IPL 2025 47th Match – RR vs GT – Suryavanshi Vaibhav
28th April 2025 – 47th Match
The Rajasthan Royals clinched a thrilling victory, keeping their playoff hopes alive in the IPL 2025 season. With a strong performance under pressure, the team managed to chase down a challenging target, showcasing resilience and determination. This crucial win not only boosts their confidence but also lifts them from the bottom of the table, giving them a fighting chance to stay in the competition.
Although their journey to the playoffs remains uncertain, this result has kept their qualification hopes intact. The Royals will now look to maintain this momentum in their remaining matches to secure a spot in the top four.
In a jaw-dropping contest at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur, teen prodigy Vaibhav Suryavanshi, aged just 14 years and 32 days, lit up the match with a blistering 100 off only 35 deliveries. His fifty came in just 17 balls, marking the fastest half-century of IPL 2025.
Suryavanshi not only became the youngest player to score a fifty in IPL history—surpassing Riyan Parag by over 3 years and Sanju Samson by more than 4—but also recorded the second-fastest century in IPL history, trailing only Chris Gayle’s iconic 30-ball ton in 2013.

Despite chasing a steep target of 210, Rajasthan Royals smashed 155 in just 11 overs, powered by Suryavanshi’s heroics. Yashasvi Jaiswal’s 31-ball 50 was completely overshadowed by the teenager’s sensational knock.
Earlier, Shubman Gill struck 84 (50), and Jos Buttler remained unbeaten on 50 (26), helping Gujarat Titans post 210. Sai Sudharsan added 39 to take the Orange Cap.
This match held critical implications — RR, placed ninth, were battling for survival, while GT, currently second, looked to secure a playoff berth.
Though GT’s bowlers impressed in their previous match against KKR, questions still hover over their middle order’s resilience if their top trio—Gill, Sudharsan, and Buttler—fail.
As RR’s inconsistent form continues, they seem to be missing the x-factor that once made them title contenders. The batting lacks depth and the bowling lacks bite, putting their season in jeopardy.
Rajashtan Royal Scorecard
- Yashasvi Jaiswal – 70 (40)
- Vaibhav Suryavanshi – 101 (38)
- Nitish Rana – 4 (2)
- Riyan Prag – 32 (15)
